Police identify pedestrian killed in crash near I-80 in Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Omaha Police Department has identified the pedestrian killed Tuesday in a crash near Interstate 80.

Around 9:50 p.m., officers responded to the crash on 13th Street near the eastbound I-80 on-ramp.

Police said 63-year-old James Rose of Omaha was walking on 13th Street when he was struck from behind by a minivan.

“The force of the impact threw the pedestrian into the island near the on-ramp,” police said in a press release.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
