LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Snow made its return to eastern Nebraska on Thursday.
The snow began in Lincoln early in the afternoon and continued until about 5:30 p.m.
For a couple of hours, much of the eastern portion of the state was under a snow squall warning.
That’s a rare warning for short, intense bursts of blowing snow.
The National Weather Service in Omaha said it had never issued a snow squall warning before Thursday.
Fun Fact: The two snow squall warnings that were issued this evening were the first ever put out by our office here in Omaha! However, nothing like the snow squalls out in @NWSStateCollege ‘s area! They can keep those out there 💓 #snow #winterwx #newx #iawx #readyforsummer pic.twitter.com/GHo4944uoT

Although the snowfall has stopped, Chief Meteorologist Rusty Dawkins said the wind will blow the snow around “all night.”
Additional snow is done in Lincoln.
Now the wind will blow around all of the new snow (and some of the old) all night.
