Waverly girls basketball stuns top-ranked Elkhorn North
WAVERLY, Neb. (KLKN) – Waverly girls basketball defeated Elkhorn North 58-48 at home on Friday night.
It was the No. 1 Wolves’ first loss since Dec. 2, 2022.
After the win, Vikings head coach John Cockerill talked about slowing down Nebraska commit Britt Prince.
“It was important to keep her outside or keep her away from the inside,” he said.
Vikings senior guard Peyton Tritz said guarding Prince was “such an honor.”
“She is such a great player,” Tritz said.
The Vikings will hit the road to face off with Gretna East on Tuesday.
