URI Loses Home Game to Duquesne

Rhode Island had no answer for Dae Dae Grant or the perimeter shooting of Duquesne. The Rams lost 85-71 as the visiting Dukes shot 14-of-27 from the perimeter
Saturday afternoon.

Grant scored 31 points and made half of his team’s 3-point baskets on the day. Duquesne (13-8, 3-5 Atlantic 10) outscored URI 42-15 from long range.
The Rams (10-12, 4-5 Atlantic 10) had cut the deficit from 20 to eight following a pair of Tyson Brown free throws with 8:50 to go. However, it was all Duquesne down
the stretch, as the Dukes pushed the lead back to as many as 16 to cruise to the win.

Duquesne guard Dae Dae Grant matched his career high with seven 3-point baskets. He also was 6-for-6 from the line.
The Dukes outscored URI 30-13 in bench points.
Rhody frward David Green had his third consecutive 20-point game. He had exactly 20 points with five rebounds.
Guard Jaden House was the only other Ram in double figures, finishing with 17 points and four boards.
After starting the game 2-for-8 at the free throw line, the Rams made their final 12 attempts and ended the game 14-of-20 at the line.
URI outscored Duquesne 40-26 in the paint.
