Homeless women ride out storm in a tent, their cat barely makes it out alive

Two homeless women are grateful for their lives this evening after riding out the storm in their car, and a tent.
“We were scared,” Sheila Henry said.
Henry and Ashley Parker are facing homelessness for the first time in their lives after being forced to leave their home as it became unsafe.
They spent the last of their money to pitch a tent on a campground at Branched Oak Lake until new housing can be arranged.
“It’s either a hotel room tonight or paying car insurance tomorrow,” Henry said.
Henry said they were driving down the highway heading back to camp for the night when the storm hit.
“It started getting darker and darker and once we hit 79 the hail started,” Henry said.
The driving conditions were dangerous, they said they were sliding off the road, but the only thing on their mind- was their cat Lucky.

He was inside the tent at the lake alone, as they were headed back.
“I thought he was dead and I just love this cat, I love him with all my heart,” Henry said.
When they got back to the lake, the storm still pounding down on them, Parker flew out of the car before it even stopped moving.”
“Ashley screamed help, and I screamed help,” Henry said.
Two men, the only campers left in the area, helped lift the tent off Lucky.
He was soaked, but okay.
It’s his name, but all three of them are lucky.
More than that- Henry said they’re blessed. Because inside their water covered tent, there was one message, loud and clear.
“The only thing that didn’t get wet was our bible, everything else was soaked.”
Having Henry thanking God- for keeping her safe, for keeping Parker safe, for keeping Lucky alive. Thanking Him for blessing her, even when she’s in the worst times of her life.
“My biggest advice is open the bible, because there’s a God,” Henry said. “And he works.”
