LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Troopers seized mushrooms and marijuana Monday in a traffic stop near Grand Island, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Just before 6 p.m., a trooper pulled over an eastbound GMC Terrain for speeding on Interstate 80 just south of Wood River.

During the traffic stop, the trooper saw a THC product in plain view, according to the patrol.

Troopers searched the vehicle and found 11 pounds of marijuana, 3 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms and nearly 300 grams of THC products.

The mushrooms and marijuana were hidden in a suitcase in the vehicle’s rear, the patrol said.

The driver, 28-year-old Avery Wayman of Lincoln, was arrested on suspicion of felony drug charges.
