Inmate who absconded from Lincoln corrections facility is caught in Arkansas

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An inmate who went missing from a Lincoln corrections facility last week made it to the Natural State before being arrested.

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said Jonathan King, 47, was arrested Wednesday in Little Rock, Arkansas.

King, an inmate at the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln, left his job in the community on Friday.

Authorities found his electronic monitoring device near 84th and O streets.

King was serving a 30- to 40-year sentence for two counts of robbery in Douglas County.

He had a parole hearing scheduled for November and a tentative release date of Sept. 7, 2028.

The Community Corrections Center-Lincoln is the least restrictive type of facility in the state prison system.

Inmates are allowed to go to work, school or religious services unsupervised.
