11th annual Team Jack Gala sold out Saturday event, auction
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Hundreds gathered tonight for the 11th annual Team Jack Gala at the Lincoln Marriott Cornhusker Hotel to raise money and awareness for pediatric brain cancer.
The foundation sold every item tonight from their live and silent auctions to help raise money for treatment and research.
30 affected families attended the gala; one of which included Bryant Young, a San Fransisco 49ers football Hall of Famer.
He and his wife lost a child to brain cancer, so he has a special tie to the cause. Young was a keynote speaker for the event.
The director of marketing for Team Jack, Lindsey Nemetz, said the Team Jack Foundation donated a little over a million dollars to research. They hope to hit that same amount or better this year as well.
“We’ve raised over $12.5 million for research since we started in 2013,” Nemetz said.
Since the event was sold out tonight, those who wished to attend have access to watch the live stream even after the event is over.
