Rain and snow in the forecast
We really need the moisture and it’s been a while since we’ve seen any. That is about to change!
Temperatures have been very warm lately, but we’re going to cool off some by the end of the week.
Temperatures are going to cool off heading into the weekend with a decent chance for rain changing to snow Thursday into Friday.
Above is what StormCast has for the timing for the precipitation. A cold front will slice across the state changing the rain over to snow.
Rainfall amounts by Friday morning will range from a tenth to a half inch for much of the state. Less is likely further northeast.
Snowfall potential is highest in the western half of the state, but the eastern half may see a trace to an inch of slushy wet snow by early Friday.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for much of western Nebraska Thursday morning through Friday morning.
A light rain/snow/mix/ice potential is possible during the day Thursday, before changing over to just snow Thursday night.
