Rod Fowler celebrates 28 years at KLKN

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Evening Anchor Rod Fowler marked 28 years at Channel 8 on Wednesday.

Fowler has been with KLKN since its inception in 1996.

He said he has worked with “some of the best people in this industry” during that time.

“It has been a great run,” he said.

Fowler said he takes joy in mentoring young people who work at Channel 8.

“My philosophy in life is: We’re a team; we’re all the same. We’re all trying to get to the end product,” he said.

Fowler was surprised at the end of the 5 p.m. newscast with a cake and some tributes from colleagues.
