Police: One man dead after a single vehicle rollover crash

Lincoln police said a single vehicle rollover accident left a 24-year-old male dead and a female passenger with non-life threatening injuries in north Lincoln Sunday morning.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Police had the N 27th St on ramp to WB I-80 blocked off Sunday morning for over tow hours after a fatal traffic crash.

Authorities said they responded to a single vehicle rollover crash at the on ramp around 7:45 a.m. Sunday morning. When they arrived on scene they found two people in the flipped car. The driver, a 24-year-old male was pronounced dead on scene. The female passenger left the crash site on her own after being looked at by authorities with non- life threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed a Ford Mustang had turned onto the ramp from N 27th Street and the driver lost control and drove off the roadway, rolling the vehicle, according to officials.

Police said alcohol by the driver is suspected to be involved and seat belts were not in use.

The name of the deceased driver has not been released until all family has been notified. This is an ongoing investigation, more information will be released at a later time.

Traffic was re-routed while investigators had the ramp closed off. As of 10:15 a.m. the ramp was reopened by authorities.
