The 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law authorized $108 billion for public transportation all over the U.S., and $23.6 million of that is going to the Lincoln project.

The city will spend about $842,000 on the project, and it already owns the land, which is valued at $8.3 million.

The entire project is expected to be completed by 2027.

The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department also announced technology upgrades like tablets at bus stops with information on bus arrival times and route changes.
