Teen arrested in burglary at south Lincoln vape shop

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teen was arrested Thursday in connection to a burglary at a south Lincoln vape shop last month.

Around 10 a.m., officers approached a 15-year-old boy near 33rd Street and Sheridan Boulevard.

Police said the teen was a possible suspect in a burglary at Generation V near 48th Street and Old Cheney Road on March 25.

The teen ran away, but officers caught up and took him into custody, according to police.

He was lodged at the Youth Attention Center on one count of burglary.

The teen was also referred on suspicion of trespassing and two unrelated theft charges.

A user of the NOW Local News App shared a video that showed a heavy police presence in the Country Club neighborhood.

The owner of Generation V also shared security footage of the burglary on March 25.

Police said the thieves caused an estimated $4,500 in damage to the business.  They also stole over $2,000 in merchandise.
