Kearney man sentenced for failing to register as sex offender

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Kearney man was sentenced on Wednesday in federal court for failing to register as a sex offender.
District Judge Robert F. Rossiter Jr. sentenced Paul Gray to a year in prison, with an additional six months for violating his supervised release.
These two sentences were ordered to run consecutively. After Gray’s release, he will begin a 10-year term of supervised release.
Gray, 49, was released from prison in 2022 and was ordered to reside at the Dismas Charities Reentry Center in Kearney.
After moving out last July, Gray failed to update his sex offender registration and didn’t advise his probation officer of his whereabouts.
In September, Gray was found at an apartment in Kearney, where he had been staying since being dismissed from Dismas Charities.
