Cool weekend, warmer next week with storm chances

The average high this time of year is in the middle 60s. We won’t quite get there this weekend. We will next week, though!

Freeze

Part of the reason we aren’t going to be very warm Saturday and Sunday is the cold start we’re going to get. It’s going to be cold enough that much of the eastern half of the state will fall below the freezing mark, prompting a Freeze Warning.

Tonight Low Dma

Just about all of south central and southeast Nebraska will be at or below freezing early Saturday morning.

3day Lincoln Forecast With Hourlies

We try to warm up, but will fall short of the average high of 66 degrees.

Tomorrow High Dma

Upper 40s to the lower and middle 50s for highs can be expected. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with a bit of a northwest breeze.

Tomorrow High Dept From Normal Dma

Those 40s and 50s are 10 to almost 20 degrees below average!

Skycast Weekend Forecast

While the first half of the weekend will be cool and breezy, Sunday will be sunny and warmer.

Day 7

Looking long range, late next week may see some severe thunderstorms. It’s something we’ll be watching closely!
