Aubrey Trail, a suspect in the Sydney Loofe murder case, appeared in the Saline County District Court Monday morning.

In the hearing, the defense attorney Joe Murray filed three motions. One to hire a private investigator to assist going through the results of the investigation, one to hold a deposition for witnesses next month and one to release the affidavit and inventory of the case.

Murray also asked the state to finish releasing the results of the investigation. Murray said they don’t have documents like the autopsy report, results of scientific tests or any photo or video evidence in the case.

Representatives from the Attorney General’s office said they are working on getting them the documents, but want to organize and categorize them first.

The judge asked the state to get them as soon as possible.

The next status hearing will be September 20, at 1:00 p.m.
