Last week the the city and county’s attorneys office teamed up for the first ever Warrant Week.

They gave anyone with outstanding warrants the opportunity to go to the Hall of Justice and request a new court date, a new deadline for paying fines and leave on their own, without going to jail.

Pat Condon, Lancaster County Attorney said they wanted to reduce the number of outstanding warrants that sat at around 4,000 before the week.

"We just thought if there’s a way we could do this to not have somebody end up in jail, not have police get involved and reduce warrant numbers, it’s something we should try," Condon said.

Condon said they would consider doing this again, but have no future date set at this time.

The County Attorney’s Office cleared 51 warrants:

DUI, Traffic- 25
