A Lincoln Police officer faces months of testing after being stabbed with a used needle.
It happened Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. in Northwest Lincoln.
Paramedics and police responded to a call that the 27-year-old suspect was unconscious at the bottom of the stairs.
When he woke up, police said he started fighting the paramedics so they injected him with a sedative. Police said he then grabbed the needle they used on him and stabbed it into a police officer’s arm.
The officer and suspect were taken to the hospital.
The officer is back on duty, but police said has to be tested to ensure he didn’t catch any illnesses from the suspect several times in the next six months.
The suspect will be arrested for second degree assault upon his release from the hospital.
