Former Husker Will Compton helps raise $66,000 for storm relief in Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Nebraska football player Will Compton has raised $66,000 in storm relief after last week’s tornado outbreak.
On Tuesday, Compton announced on social media that the money is going toward four different tornado relief funds in Nebraska.
On April 26, three confirmed EF-3 tornadoes ripped through parts of Douglas, Washington and Lancaster counties.
Barstool Sports and Compton — who played at Nebraska from 2008 to 2012 — have been selling T-shirts over the last week to help raise the money.
Dropping this video to say THANK YOU to everyone who purchased a shirt, donated over the weekend, and helped rally to spread the message.

On Thursday, Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen asked for federal assistance for a “wide range” of emergency relief costs, including debris removal and individual aid.
Preliminary assessments found that damage in all counties totals $11.5 million, the governor’s office said in a press release.
