Man riding scooter seriously injured in north Lincoln crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man riding a scooter was seriously injured Wednesday night in a crash in north Lincoln, police say.

The crash was reported at about 6:45 p.m. on 33rd Street near Huntington Avenue.

An SUV was heading north on 33rd when it hit a man on a motorized scooter just north of Huntington Avenue, police said.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue took the man to a hospital with serious injuries.  He is in stable condition, according to police.

Police initially told Channel 8 that the victim was riding a bicycle.

Officers closed 33rd Street from Huntington to Baldwin Avenue during the investigation, but the road has since reopened.
