LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Skatepark Association is hosting an event Saturday to raise funds for its new skatepark in the Haymarket.

The “LSA Big Deal” is being held on North 21st Street between P and Q streets and goes from 3 to 8 p.m., officials announced in a press release.

The free event features bands, a prize raffle, a silent auction and a skateboard contest.

Several local food vendors, including Muchachos and Rutabagas, are also attending the event.

The skatepark is part of a larger $25 million South Haymarket Park project near Seventh and L streets.

The city is planning on breaking ground on the park in 2025.  It won’t open until spring 2026.

The skatepark, designed by Spohn Ranch Skateparks based in Los Angeles, will be Nebraska’s largest skateboard facility.
