Offense, defense prepare for tough challenge ahead
Nebraska is simplifying their game plan on both sides of the ball before rivalry game against Iowa.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The players and coaches agree that their has been more “juice” in practice this week, compared to the week leading up to the team’s 41-23 loss over Illinois.
“This is has been one of the better weeks of practice,” Offensive Coordinator Matt Lubick said.
The team is simplifying their game plan on both sides of the ball before traveling to Iowa on Friday for the annual Heroes Game. This rivalry game has favored the Hawkeyes in the last five years, and the past two match ups have been decided by a game-winning Iowa field goal.
Defensive Coordinator Erik Chinander said this game means a lot not only to players but also to the fans and people of each state.
“This is a game that if you can’t get ready for this one, than you probably don’t need to be playing college football or at Nebraska,” Chinander said. “This is a game everyone’s ready for, and everyone wants to win this game.”
“Obviously this game is huge,” defensive lineman Casey Rogers said. “I think everyone in the locker room knows that. We want that trophy back.”
The Huskers kick off at Iowa at noon on Friday.
