Expect similar QB situation as Huskers prepare for Purdue
Offensive coordinator Matt Lubick expects both Adrian Martinez and Luke McCaffrey to play against the Boilermakers on Saturday.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The same storyline from week one is still a main topic approaching the Huskers’ sixth game of the season.
Quarterbacks were a main focus in a press conference this morning. Offensive coordinator Matt Lubick didn’t want to give the whole QB plan away but said he expects to see both Adrian Martinez and Luke McCaffrey alternate in the quarterback position.
“I could say, but I don’t want to say,” Lubick said smiling.
He did say that it will be a combination of a pre-determined plan and the flow of the game for whether Martinez of McCaffrey will be in for a specific drive.
“It’s been a good situation to be honest with you,” Lubick said. “They both can run every play in our offense.”
Lubick also confirmed that Austin Allen was practicing today and is ready for Saturday following a brutal hit late in the game against Iowa.
There is also a potential that this could possibly be the Huskers final game of the season with Minnesota’s program on halt due to positive COVID-19 cases. Defensive coordinator Erik Chinander says this team is focused on Purdue and should be playing like every game is their last.
“It should be your best effort every time you go out there,” Chinander said.
