WATCH: Thieves steal motorcycle, catalytic converters from Lincoln salvage parts store

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are investigating an early morning theft from a north Lincoln salvage parts store last month.

It happened on July 27 around 1:45 a.m. at Star City Salvage near North 33rd Street and Cornhusker Highway.

Police said the thieves torched a chain that secured the main gate and started “lurking” around the property.

Eventually, the thieves used a floor jack to lift an overhead door into the shop area.

A “significant” amount of Milwaukee power tools, 12 catalytic converters, 40 sets of car keys and a motorcycle, an estimated loss of over $4,300, police said.

Investigators are searching for an older model two-door Chevy Silverado with a half ladder rack over the passenger side of the truck bed.

The pickup also might have a large dent on the back fender.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
