A piece of home: Jordan Larson’s Olympic necklace was made in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Former Husker volleyball standout Jordan Larson brought a piece of home with her to the Olympics.
Larson has been wearing a necklace in the shape of the Olympic emblem during every game while playing on Team USA in Paris.
She had it custom-made at Sartor Hamann Jewelers in Lincoln.
The star player asked jewelers there to design something that would represent all her hard work to get to her fourth Olympics.
“We were floored when she came in and had this idea,” said Megan Burtle, Sartor Hamann’s downtown sales manager. “It was a lot of fun to work on — one of my favorite projects I’ve done.”
The designer and jeweler who made the piece said it was special to him, too.
“It’s neat to see that she wears it all the time,” Chris Eiland said. “Practice, games and all.”
The necklace has 57 diamonds, and the project took about four to five days of combined labor.
The U.S. women will play Brazil in the semifinals Thursday.
