High school football previews: Lincoln Southeast, a team motivated for a big season
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – After going 6-3 and finishing the year with a first-round playoff exit last season, the Lincoln Southeast Knights are hungrier than ever for a big season.
“When you lose in the playoffs that’s always in the back of your mind,” said senior running back Cash Buettenback. “When we lift, there’s the banners that say state champions, and we want to win. We want to be up there.”
Lincoln Southeast knows, however, that it’s a day-by-day process to make their dreams a reality.
“We don’t want to start out the season with pressure on our back. We know we can do it, we have the keys, the pieces,” said senior outside linebacker Pierre Allen Jr.
The Knights start its year on the road against Grand Island on Friday Aug. 30 at 7:00 p.m.
