More sunshine Monday after weekend showers

Welcome rainfall over the weekend has now pushed Lincoln closer to almost an inch of total accumulation for August. More rain in the form of some widespread showers looks possible as soon as Tuesday morning, after the morning commute.

August Lincoln Rainfall

Because of quiet and cool conditions in the morning, some patchy areas of denser fog have been forming in low-lying areas. Spotty light showers were also out there, but those are expected to clear out for more sunshine and a nice Monday.

With college kids returning to campus and moving in, the forecast Monday is inviting. First day of classes for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is just a week away.

Week Ahead

Temperatures statewide on Monday look to be on the same page: low to mid 80s by the warmer parts of the afternoon for just about everyone.

State Temps Monday

Change on Tuesday will bring about a familiar feeling to what many of us saw on Sunday. More clouds, scattered showers and cooler temperatures will move back in for the second day of the work week.

Tuesday Showers

Near-normal temperatures return through the end of the week, but into the weekend we’ll be hot again.
