Man punched employee during robbery at east Lincoln gas station, LPD says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An employee of an east Lincoln gas station was punched during an early Tuesday morning robbery, police say.

Around 12:50 a.m., officers were sent to U-Stop near 84th and O streets on a report of a robbery.

Police said 23-year-old Zakariae Elouratiti entered the store, walked behind the counter and punched the clerk.

He then took off with several items.

Officers searched the area and took Elouartiti into custody.  He had the stolen items and matched the description of the suspect, according to police.

Elouartiti was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
