No one injured in RV and pickup fire on I-80 near York

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two vehicles went up in flames on Interstate 80 near York on Monday, backing up Labor Day traffic.

The York County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday that the driver of an eastbound recreational vehicle noticed that the pickup truck they were pulling was on fire.

The driver pulled over and got all the passengers and pets out of the RV, but the fire quickly spread.

Both the RV and the pickup were consumed by the flames, the sheriff’s office said.

No one was injured.

Authorities said the fire started in the engine compartment of the pickup.

The eastbound lanes of I-80 were shut down for four hours.
