Man accused of DUI after crashing into fences, parked car in west Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man is accused of driving under the influence after crashing into a parked vehicle Monday night.

The crash happened just after 11:45 p.m. near South Folsom and C streets.

Police said a Chevy Traverse was heading north when the driver lost control and hit a utility pole.

The driver then drove over a sidewalk and through two fences before hitting a parked car in a driveway, according to police.

The glass door of a home was shattered and a mailbox was lying in the front yard nearby, LPD said.

The driver was given a breath test, which showed he had a blood alcohol content level of 0.292, according to police.  The legal limit in Nebraska is 0.08.

The driver was cited on suspicion of several charges, including first-offense aggravated DUI and willful reckless driving.
