LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teen was taken into custody Thursday after bringing a toy gun to a high school football game in Alliance, police say.

Around 9:15 p.m., a school resource officer received a report of a student having a firearm in the stadium bleachers.

The officer found the student and apprehended him, police said.  What appeared to be a black handgun fell from the student’s waistband.

Police said the firearm was later identified as a black .177 Daisy Powerline CO2 gun.

No one was injured, and police said the situation was “resolved swiftly to ensure the safety of all attendees.”

An investigation is ongoing.
