UNL gives all-clear after report of man possibly armed with rifle

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The University of Nebraska-Lincoln issued an alert Friday night about a dangerous person near East Campus.
Just before 10 p.m., UNL said on social media that a man possibly armed with a rifle was near the Dairy Store.
The man was described as about 6 feet tall and wearing a dark sweater.
University police said no one has been injured.
The public was urged to avoid the area, and people were told to shelter in place.
Officers searched the area, and just before midnight, UNL said it was clear.
Police aren’t sure if this incident is related to a shooting that happened in the same area earlier this month.
