Waverly squeezes Beatrice Orangemen in shutout win
WAVERLY, Neb. (KLKN) – The Waverly Vikings continued their win streak Friday night, taking down the Beatrice Orangemen 62-0.
The Vikings started the game in a big way, getting back-to-back touchdowns from Cooper Wittler to make the score 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Running back Brayden Canoyer took over in the second quarter. Two rushing touchdowns made the score 41-0 at the break.
The Viking defense came up big as well, getting two first-half interceptions to hold the Orangemen offense scoreless.
The second half was much of the same, as Beatrice couldn’t get the ball moving on offense.
Waverly will look to keep its streak alive as it hosts Plattsmouth next Friday.
Beatrice will try to bounce back next Friday as it hosts Norris.
