‘Just keep swimming’: Nebraska City fish farm moving forward after fire
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A fish farm in Nebraska City was destroyed in a fire Tuesday night.
Nebraska Vegetable and Protein said all of its crops and animals were killed.
The business is an aquaponics farm. That means it raises aquatic animals and grows plants in water.
The farm was focused on producing Atlantic salmon.
“We will be releasing statements and plans regarding our mission and future efforts to be back on your plates,” the farm said on Facebook. “Just keep swimming.”
The fire was electrical, according to the Facebook post.
