Kitchen fire causes $75,000 in damage to Lincoln home
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A fire at a southeast Lincoln home displaced a family Tuesday evening.
The blaze started about 5:30 p.m. near 56th Street and Elkhart Drive, which is about halfway between Nebraska Parkway and Pioneers Boulevard.
Crews found a fire in the kitchen when they arrived, according to Lincoln Fire & Rescue.
Battalion Chief Aaron Pospisil said firefighters had the flames under control within 10 minutes.
LFR said an air fryer caught fire, but it’s not yet clear why.
The fire caused about $75,000 in damage, according to LFR.
The family won’t be able to stay in the home for the time being, Pospisil said.
