No. 2 Nebraska extends winning streak, sweeps Northwestern

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska volleyball team extended its winning streak to 19 on Sunday with a sweep over Northwestern.

The Huskers defeated the Wildcats 25-18, 25-15, 25-15 at Welsh-Ryan Arena in Chicago.

NU outhit Northwestern .287% to .082% while racking up seven aces.

Merritt Beason led Nebraska with nine kills and a .643% hitting percentage, followed by Andi Jackson with eight kills and a .545% hitting percentage.

Bergen Reilly paced the Huskers in assists with 25, while also leading the team in digs with nine.

The Huskers will head out to the west coast on Thursday for a match with Oregon at 9 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.

Their road trip will end in Seattle on Saturday with a battle against Washington at 9:30 p.m. on BTN.
