LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man was arrested Thursday with nearly 700 grams of drugs in his backpack, police said.

The Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force was sent to a home near 31st and Holdrege streets just after 4:30 p.m.

Derek Spurlock, 37, had an active warrant out for his arrest after violating the terms of federal parole, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

Law enforcement said they found Spurlock getting into a car outside the home and arrested him without incident.

Inside his backpack, officers found 442.7 grams of methamphetamine, 231 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, drug paraphernalia and $341 in cash, LPD said.

A search of the vehicle recovered more meth, cocaine, ecstasy, mushrooms, marijuana and paraphernalia, according to officials.

Officers said they also searched his hotel room and found more drugs and paraphernalia.

Spurlock was lodged in the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of possession of meth with intent to deliver and other drug charges.
