Man accused of DUI after crashing into pole in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was ticketed Wednesday after crashing into a traffic pole in north Lincoln, police say.

Just before 1 a.m., an officer spotted a sedan that crashed into a traffic pole at North 11th Street and Cornhusker Highway.

The officer helped the driver, a 57-year-old Lincoln man, out of the smoking car.

He was taken to a hospital with a serious injury.

The driver also had a blood alcohol content level of 0.094, according to LPD.  He was cited on suspicion of reckless driving and DUI.
