Christa Yoakum fends off challenge for Lancaster County Board seat

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lancaster County Commissioner Christa Yoakum has been reelected.
The county’s final batch of ballots was counted Friday, clearing up the close race.
The Democratic incumbent in District 2 defeated Republican Jeremy Kuehn by 683 votes.

In the other Board of Commissioners race on the ballot this year, Democrat Chelsea Johnson defeated Republican David Russell, flipping the seat from the GOP.
Next year, Democrats will hold four of the five seats on the board.
Voter turnout in Lancaster County was 78%.
