Suspect in 1969 Wahoo homicide arrested in Oklahoma
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 55-year-old murder case had some abrupt movement on Monday, as a suspect in the killing of Wahoo native Mary Kay Heese was arrested.
Joseph A. Ambroz, 77, was arrested in Ponca City, Oklahoma, on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Heese, 17, was reported missing on March 25, 1969, and her body was discovered in a roadside ditch south of Wahoo just after midnight the next morning.
It is unclear what new evidence led to the arrest of Ambroz, but he will appear in court in Oklahoma in the next couple of days to start the extradition process.
