Woman dies in central Nebraska rollover crash

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was killed early Tuesday morning in a rollover crash in central Nebraska.

About 6 a.m., deputies with the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office were sent to 2nd and Ormsby roads, about 10 miles west of Central City.

A pickup was going west on Ormsby when it crossed into the eastbound lane, then went into the ditch and hit an embankment, the sheriff’s office said.

That caused the pickup to roll, according to authorities.

The passenger, 23-year-old Hailee Vlach of Palmer, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a 32-year-old from Palmer, suffered minor injuries.

The sheriff’s office said that they were not wearing seat belts and that airbags did not deploy.

Sheriff John Westman said the crash is under investigation.
