No. 2 Nebraska volleyball downs No. 6 Wisconsin in three sets

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – No. 2 Nebraska volleyball swept No. 6 Wisconsin – again – at the Devaney Center on Saturday.

It’s the second time the Huskers have defeated the Badgers in three sets this season.

NU hit .259%, compared with .169% for Wisconsin.

The Badgers were also hampered by their 11 service errors. The Huskers had only four.

Nebraska started hot, going up 7-1 in the first set.

Wisconsin fought back, but the Huskers held on to win 25-21.

The Badgers took a brief lead early in the second set, but Nebraska went on a 6-0 scoring run to get back on top.

Toward the end of the set, Wisconsin kept it close, but NU escaped with a 25-22 win.

The third set began in a similar fashion to the second.

Wisconsin opened a lead, but the Huskers scored 7 straight points to erase it.

The Badgers later tied the set at 14, but Nebraska pulled away to win 25-17.

Merritt Beason led Nebraska with 11 kills, and Rebekah Allick added 10.

Lexi Rodriguez racked up 16 digs.

The Huskers (28-1) will play at Penn State on Friday. The match begins at 4 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
