I-80 closed near Gretna after multiple crashes
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 13-mile stretch of Interstate 80 closed in both directions Friday night after a slew of crashes.
About 9 p.m., I-80 shut down from Ashland to the interchange with Nebraska Highway 370, on the southwest edge of Omaha.
The Nebraska State Patrol said there were multiple crashes amid poor driving conditions.
Shortly before 10 p.m., the interstate reopened from Ashland to exit 429 near Gretna.
About 11 miles of the interstate is still closed.
Drivers are urged to take caution in the freezing rain.
Early in the night, several crashes happened in Lincoln during rush hour.
