22-year-old woman involved in central Nebraska chase is on the lam, authorities say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities are looking for a woman who they say led them on a chase on New Year’s Eve.
On Tuesday, the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office shared a wanted poster of McKenzie Hinderliter of Omaha.
The 22-year-old was hospitalized after the chase, but court documents say she has since disappeared.
McKENZIE….WE STILL HAVE YOUR ILLEGAL NARCOTICS!” the sheriff’s office said on Facebook. “CONTACT ANY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY TO CLAIM! WE ARE EXCITED TO SEE YOU IN PERSON AFTER OUR BRIEF ENCOUNTER ON NEW YEARS EVE.”

The chase started about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 31 on Highway 30 east of Central City, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said Hinderliter was driving recklessly, forcing other drivers to swerve.
A deputy tried to pull her over, but authorities said she sped off, topping 125 mph.
She then led the deputy down several county roads, according to the sheriff’s office, before crashing her car.
An arrest affidavit says investigators found about 1.7 grams of cocaine, a rolled-up $5 bill with cocaine residue and a 1-gram marijuana roach in the vehicle.
Hinderliter was taken to Genoa Hospital, then flown to Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln.
But she left the hospital “against medical advice,” the affidavit says, and is now in the wind.
Hinderliter is charged with possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, driving under suspension and obstructing a peace officer.
