LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Thursday after a standoff at a home near Lincoln, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says.

Around 7 p.m., deputies responded to a home near Lincoln and Chester streets on a report of a disturbance.

Capt. John Vik said 35-year-old Nathan Hansen had shoved a person and stomped on the foot of another at the home.

Hansen then pulled out an axe and threatened the people inside the home, according to Vik.

When deputies arrived, they tried negotiating with Hansen.

Two people were able to exit the home, and Hansen barricaded himself inside, Vik said.

Eventually, the agency’s tactical response team got a search warrant, entered the home and took Hansen into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and obstructing a police officer.
