‘Things got a little hectic’: Semi slides on icy roads in southeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office shared video of a close call on an icy road in southeast Nebraska on Sunday.

In the video posted on Facebook, a deputy was responding to a semi crash on Highway 2 near Palmyra.

While the deputy was at the scene, another semi slid along Highway 2, narrowly missing the crashed semi.

“Things got a little hectic with the ice,” the sheriff’s office said in the post.

The sheriff’s office warned drivers of icy conditions on Highway 2 between Syracuse and Palmyra earlier that day.

Eventually, the road was treated for ice and traffic conditions improved, according to the sheriff’s office.
