LFR puts out kitchen fire at west Lincoln apartment complex

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A fire broke out in the kitchen of a west Lincoln apartment Thursday night.

Crews were called to an apartment complex near South Folsom and West A streets about 9 p.m.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue said firefighters put out the flames within 10 minutes.

No one was injured, but LFR said the residents of the unit were displaced.

The fire caused about $5,000 in damage, according to LFR.

Authorities said the blaze may have been the result of a cooking accident, but the investigation is still ongoing.
