Nebraska men defeat No. 18 Illinois in OT to snap losing streak

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska men’s basketball team snapped a six-game losing streak Thursday, beating No. 18 Illinois 80-74 in overtime at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Huskers narrowly outshot the Illini 40% to 36% from the field, and they never trailed.
The game went into OT when Illinois’ Will Riley missed a 3-point try with 1 second left.
Brice Williams scored six points in the extra period to give Nebraska the edge.
Williams led the Huskers with 27 points, followed by Connor Essegian with 14 and Juwan Gary with 13.
Nebraska next plays at Oregon at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The game will air on the Big Ten Network.
