Victim awakened by burglar inside south Lincoln apartment, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man broke into a south Lincoln apartment early Thursday morning and left with the victim’s car keys, police say.

Around 2:15 a.m., officers were sent to the apartment near 29th and Randolph streets on a report of a burglary.

Police said the victim was woken up by a man, donning all-black clothing, walking around in their apartment.

The man took off with the victim’s apartment and car keys.  LPD said the victim’s vehicle, a 2012 gray Volkswagen Jetta, was also stolen.

Investigators noticed a door to the apartment had been pried open.
