Man dies a week after crash between pickup and tree in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man died Tuesday, more than a week after crashing into a tree.
The crash happened Feb. 17 at Plymouth Avenue and Bradfield Drive, which is near 27th and South streets.
Police said the driver of a pickup, Brian Swanson, had a medical emergency.
The Lincoln Police Department crash report says the pickup went through two yards, coming to a stop when it hit a tree.
Witnesses said there was smoke coming from the pickup.
Bystanders broke a window so they could open the door and pull Swanson out, according to the crash report.
He was unresponsive and was taken to a hospital, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit.
The crash report does not specify what medical emergency Swanson suffered and says he “died from injuries sustained” in the crash.
The report says the snowy road played a role in the crash.
